LOKN is a personal assistant that remembers what matters to you and reminds you on time. This policy explains what LOKN reads, where it keeps it, and who else sees it.
When you connect a Google account, LOKN asks for read-only permission on your calendars. The exact permissions it requests are:
calendar.readonly: read the events on your calendarscalendar.calendarlist.readonly: read the list of your calendars, so LOKN can honor which ones you have selectedFrom an event LOKN keeps the title, times, time zone, recurrence rule, and whether the event was cancelled. LOKN uses this only to show you what is coming up and to remind you.
What is not live yet. LOKN does not read your calendar on its own today. The automatic connection is not switched on in the app you run. Calendar events reach LOKN only when they are imported by hand. This page will be updated when that changes.
Notes and reminders you enter in LOKN.
Your email, your contacts, your files, or any account data beyond your calendar. LOKN asks for no other permission from your Google account.
LOKN runs on Windows today. Your information is kept on your computer, in LOKN's own folder: %LOCALAPPDATA%\lokn. Advantza does not receive a copy, and LOKN does not upload your information to Advantza or any storage service.
The text of each item is encrypted with AES-256-GCM, using a separate key for each item. Those keys are held in a key file outside LOKN's folder, and that key file is itself encrypted with a master key held in your operating system's secure credential store (Windows Credential Manager).
What is encrypted, and what is not. The text is encrypted. The times, durations, time zones, and the shape of each record are not: they are what lets LOKN remind you without anyone reading it. Someone with access to your computer could see that you have an item at a given time, but not what it says.
Keys are kept out of synced folders. A synced folder keeps old versions of files, which would make a destroyed key recoverable. LOKN is built to keep its keys out of synced folders: they are written to %LOCALAPPDATA%\lokn-credentials, which sits outside LOKN's data folder and outside any synced tree.

No other company receives your information. LOKN makes no other outbound connection.
LOKN's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Tell LOKN to forget it. LOKN destroys that item's key, and its text becomes permanently unreadable: to you, and to Advantza. The record that something happened at that time remains, because LOKN's record is tamper-evident and nothing in it is ever rewritten. What is removed is the words, not the fact.
Reminders already sent to Telegram stay in your Telegram chat until you delete them there. Forgetting an item in LOKN does not remove them.
Delete all three of these from your computer:

Remove LOKN's access at any time from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
LOKN is not directed to children under 13, and Advantza does not knowingly collect information from them.
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from any other company. There are no third-party fonts, scripts, or images on this page. Your visit is not tracked.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
